Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how EKNOWLOGY LLC ("EKNOWLOGY," "we," "us") collects, uses and shares personal information when you use eknowlogy.ai and its AI assistant (the "Service"). It is part of our Terms of Service.
The short version: we collect your email, your chats and basic technical data to run the Service. We store your chats and use them to improve it. We do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising. You can ask us to delete your account and chats at any time.

We do not receive or store your full card number. Stripe collects and processes it directly.
Voice input
If you use the microphone button, your browser's built-in speech recognition turns your speech into text, and only that text is sent to us. Depending on your browser, the audio may be processed by your browser's provider (for example, Google for Chrome) under its own privacy policy.
2. How we use information
- Provide the Service, including generating answers to your questions
- Create and secure your account, and authenticate you
- Process your subscription, renewals, cancellations and refunds
- Improve the Service, including answer quality, our wine knowledge base, prompts and features
- Monitor for abuse, fraud and security threats, and enforce our Terms
- Respond to support requests and communicate with you
- Comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations
3. Emails we send
We send service emails about your account, billing, scheduled maintenance and changes to our terms. You cannot opt out of these while you have an account. If we send marketing or product news, each message will include an unsubscribe link.
4. Your chats and our AI
Your chats are stored with your account so you can use the Service and so we can improve it. To improve the Service, authorized EKNOWLOGY personnel may review conversations, and we may analyze them to improve our answers, knowledge base and models.
To generate responses, your chat content is processed by an AI model provided through our cloud provider, Amazon Web Services (AWS Bedrock). Under its service terms, the model provider does not use your content to train its own models.
Please do not enter confidential business information, trade secrets or sensitive personal information (such as health or financial details) into the chat.
5. How we share information
We share personal information only as described here:
- Service providers who process it on our behalf under contract: Amazon Web Services (hosting, storage, authentication and AI processing) and Stripe (payments and subscription billing).
- Content delivery networks (cdnjs and jsDelivr), which serve some of the code libraries the chat application loads and therefore receive your IP address.
- Legal requirements: when required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights, safety and property of EKNOWLOGY, our users or the public.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
- With your consent or at your direction.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Cookies
The chat application uses only essential cookies:
- a session cookie that keeps you signed in, which expires after an hour;
- a short-lived cookie that protects the sign-in process and expires after ten minutes; and
- cookies our sign-in provider, Amazon Cognito, sets on its sign-in pages.
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The public website at eknowlogy.ai sets no cookies. Because we do not track you across other websites, we do not change our practices in response to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
7. How long we keep information
- Account information and chats: until you delete your account or ask us to delete them.
- Billing records: as long as required for tax, accounting and legal purposes, even after account deletion.
- Security and technical logs: for a limited period needed for security and troubleshooting.
After deletion, data may remain in encrypted backups for a limited time until they are overwritten. We may keep de-identified, aggregated data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
8. Security and storage
We store data in the United States on Amazon Web Services and use safeguards such as encryption in transit and at rest, access controls and monitoring. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your password confidential and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
9. Your choices and rights
Regardless of where you live, you may ask us to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you, including a copy of your chats
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account, chats and related personal information
Email support@eknowlogy.ai from the address on your account. We may need to verify your identity, and we will respond within 45 days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Some information may be kept where the law requires, as described in Section 7.
10. Age requirement
The Service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If we learn we have, we will delete it. Contact us if you believe a minor has used the Service.
11. California disclosures
California residents may request information about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not make such disclosures. Section 1 lists the categories of personal information we collect, and Section 5 lists the categories of third parties we share it with.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. We will change the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you by email or in-app notice before they take effect.
